Must-Do Tips for Healthy Traveling

Travel Healthy Hacks

Where to kiddos? I am on the road a lot for work and over the years have developed a must-do list of healthy travel hacks no matter where I am in the world. Promise, I’m not going to sit here and tell you to drink excess amounts of water {pretty sure you already know that one}, but these healthy tips take a few moments of thought that will easily become routine and will help you looking and feeling your best.

Healthy Travel Tips

1. Healthy Noms

I don’t use traveling as an excuse to eat sh*tty foods or come back feeling like a bloated hot mess. Call me crazy, but I have been known to book hotels nearest the Whole Foods. Often times when I arrive at my destination, it’s my first stop so that I can always have healthy breakfasts {like hard boiled eggs, Greek Yogurt with a little Justin’s peanut-butter , shiritaki noodles} and for on-the-go snacks I always have a plethora of  Quest Bars on-hand.  They are high-protein and gluten-free and keep me full on the days that I’m running from meeting-to-meeting or for a bite in-flight. Don’t know which ones to try? The pumpkin flavor {I know so #basic} and birthday cake flavors are my jam.

2. No BS Excuses – Work Out Everywhere

I love trying local studios in the different cities I’m in, but I have found myself in some precariously odd places across the country where I need an alternative solution. When I recently traveled overseas with the boys, I knew my workout situation would need to be accounted for.  Now I don’t travel anywhere without my P.volve aka my ball bra. This thing is NO joke. I stream the classes on my ipad and  sweat my ass off in 30-50 minutes – guaranteed to give your abs, booty and thighs a burn. I also always throw on these ankle weights for extra resistance, because why not?  Also on super lazy days when I don’t feel like going to barre or riding my bike, I P.volve. Did I mention it’s only $29.95 a month? You can do it.

3. Gut Check

24 hours before I get on a plane, I take 1-2 of these puppies – Garden Life Probiotics to decrease bloat and keep things.. um. moving. I’ve tried 2092305928350 probiotics and they I swear by and have kept me feeling my best even on international flights.

4. Skin Skin Skin

I hate how hotels make your skin feel like a dried out mess. So I always do Korean masks at night to keep that moisture locked and loaded. These Derma Korean collagen masks are $10 for a big pack and my go-tos. Also, I will literally go NOWHERE without my Dr. Dennis Gross Peel Pads so of course I will always use these too. 5. Do Some Research

I always always always research some healthy food spots for lunch and check out the menus wherever I go before I get there. This is so I can find something healthy to eat and gluten free too. I often will search for vegan places {though I am not} as this helps narrow down the scope and will eat their likely everyday. Having a healthy breakfast and lunch also allows me to splurge at night if I’m going out with friends or clients.

6. Get Those ZZzzzz’s

For years, when I would travel away from Eddie, I slept like sh*t. Even if I’m in bed so early, I would toss and turn for hours. That is, until I found these bad boys. This mask is my equivalent of noise canceling headphones, but for your eyes and literally blocks out all the light. Bonus points because they don’t smash your lashes and are under $10.

So tell me, what are your healthy travel tips and secrets?
