It’s the most wonderful time of the yearrrrrr! I’m sharing a few healthy tips to indulge in all the things, but also have some healthy #balance to avoid packing on those holiday lbs.

4 Tips to Avoid Holiday Weight Gain

  1. Get your sweat in – This is not the time of year to take days off. You know you are going to indulge so burn baby burn those calories. Even if you can only get in a walk, do it.
  2. Eat before you eat – Ever go to a grocery store starving? You leave with bags of sh*tty foods and lots of extras, right? Eat before you eat = have a protein-filled snack so you don’t stuff your face on only junk while you are out. My go-to’s are as simple as an egg and my shirataki noodles with spinach or a quest bar if I’m in a pinch.

3. Pick your one thing – Don’t lie. You’ve scoped those iced cookies and peanut butter chocolatey truffles. You have to have them. You can’t stop thinking of them. Definitely eat them! Just find the thing you want to cash in your indulgence points.

4. Find the shrimp and the veggies – Shrimp is high in protein, low in calories. Veggies have fiber, which will keep you fuller longer. This is generally my go-to when I’m out so I can indulge in that spinach & artichoke dip or pumpkin loaf.

The biggest thing for me is this. I do not want to start the New Year feeling bloated and sodium-filled, so eat all the things but gorging yourself is generally not worth it.

How do you try to maintain a healthy balance during the Holidays?
